Refuge Host Homes, called seeking help for this young family in need of employment, housing, budgeting, direction and guidance. Thanks to the collaborative effort of the 3R partners, we pieced together housing for the mother and child, employment and housing for the father and counseling for both young adults. Long term success is accomplished when our community works together…we cannot do it alone. In this one case, six non-profit agencies that are part pf Better Together! worked toward a sustainable plan supporting a young family’s future.
Suzie attended our first Financial Roadmap course in October 2024. At the time, she was financially distressed. Her fiancé left her with five credit cards maxed out, four months behind in mortgage payments and two car loans. Simply stated… she was over $20,000 in past due debt in addition to her day to day expenses. She completed our course and put together her personal Roadmap and accomplished the following: consolidated her credit card debt and paid them off, sold a car, took a second part-time job and worked with the bank to pay to months of past due mortgage payments and had the balance added to the end of the loan.
Today Suzie is on solid financial ground working at Amazon full-time and Dollar General on the weekends.
